High Style at the Palace of the Legion of Honor

3-May-2015 • San Francisco United States

Marc and I went to the Palace of the Legion of Honor yesterday to view the current exhibit on high fashion by famous names in fashion from the early 1900s to the 1950s.

It was not a big exhibit and it took less than an hour for us to view everything. I suppose it would have been more meaningful had we taken the self audio guide. In hindsight, I think it would have been better. It was a good thing I am a member of the museum and so we can just return anytime between now and the time the exhibit closes in July.

I did appreciate the exquisite beadwork on a number of dresses. They looked like they must have taken months, not days to finish given the intricacy. No wonder many of these clothes cost thousands of dollars. Finally, I have seen with my own eyes, designs by famous designers like Balenciaga, Givenchy, and Schiaparelli.
