The American Express Centurion Lounge

5-Apr-2015 • San Francisco United States

The Centurion Lounge inside the SFO International Airport. I heard about its opening a few months back. I personally am not a member but my partner, Marc, is. Thus, right before we went to our gate to board our flight to Los Angeles and then to New Orleans for our Caribbean cruise, we passed by this very exclusive travel lounge. Membership of $450 a year is not cheap. It is only good to sign up for membership with this club if one travels very often.

We left home around 4 pm to catch our 7 pm flight in SFO. We purposely decided to get to the airport early so we could have dinner here. This lounge is so unlike the United or Star Alliance lounges we often go to in the United States and Europe. They serve real food here not just pretzels, bananas, cookies, and juice.

This very exclusive travelers' lounge may seem empty given the absence of passengers in the pictures featured here. The truth of the matter is, there were a few people the time we were there. I just waited until they all left so I could get a solo shot of my chosen subjects.

When I first saw this shelf in a Departures magazine, I thought it was a painting because of its flatness in pictures. It truly is a work of art.

One of the work stations inside the lounge

I can fall asleep just sitting in this chair and ottoman.

This was the station where one could get cookies and drinks

The dining tables near the kitchen

Very good food is served here folks. When we went, we had salmon with some veggies. A couple of weeks earlier, Marc had some delicious fried chicken.

The brand spanking new restroom inside the Centurion Lounge we had all to ourselves.
