What? No KFC? Wendy's? Jack in the Box?

I have always wondered why there is no Kentucky Fried Chicken in downtown San Francisco. Not that I eat it all the time, but, I do have a hankering for it every now and then.

Talking about KFC, I realize a number of fast food chains have very little presence in SF's city center area. There is one Burger King along Powell Street that is currently undergoing renovation, if at all. Two McDonald's restaurants, one along Market Street and another one in the Financial District, Panda Express in the basement of Nordstrom, and a Chevy's in the Moscone area. I don't think there is any Jack In the Box nor Wendy's at all. To be able to eat in some of these joints, one has to go to the suburbs where they are mostly located.

Food snobs and health buffs might actually be happy about the scarcity of these restaurants here. However, it was just a thought and a fact that came to mind recently.

This KFC is located in Vacaville across the outlet stores.

Col. Sanders, you have got to set up shop in the Union Square area. Trust me, you'll be busy there.

Yummy!

The lemon cake that came with my order. Gosh, this photo is vintage. I haven't been to KFC in nearly a year.
