Tokyo's Shibuya

16-Feb-2015 • Tokyo Japan

It must be age. I used to like being in Shibuya. I remember being awed by the lights and the crowds during my first visits to Tokyo years ago. I didn't feel the same way when I was there last weekend. In fact, the entire time I was in Tokyo, I cringed at the thought of having to go through there all because of the crowds of people. Dont' get me wrong, Shibuya is a lively part of Tokyo. It is a shopper's paradise. However, I no longer relish being in the midst of the crowds. It literally made me nervous more so since I had to take the Tokyo subway here all throughout my tenth visit to Japan.

I did visit one of my favorite stores here, The Suit Company, and a friendly sales store associate was shocked to find out the total number of times I had come to Tokyo for a visit. "What?" he asked in disbelief and delight at the same time.

"Oh yes!" I replied. I used to visit a lot more. So much so I used to come to Tokyo every season of the year to upgrade my wardrobe. That was the time I went Japan crazy all due to the beautiful clothes sold here and its fashion. Any visitor to Tokyo know just how fashionable the Tokyoites are. Will I return for more of Tokyo? I'm afraid I will.
