On Board Hong Kong's Carrier, Cathay Pacific

16-Feb-2015 • Hong Kong Hong Kong

I was really lucky to have been able to secure a roundtrip ticket to Manila, Philippines on miles at the last minute. Just like the last time I went home, I flew Cathay Pacific first to Hong Kong where I caught my connecting flight. Although I flew on economy class this time, I was still impressed with the condition of the plane and even the food. I got a bulkhead aisle seat which I loved. There was a lot of room for my legs to stretch. The only downside to the flight was the long plane ride. What was supposed to be a 14 hour ride turned out to be 16 hours.

Cathay Pacific is a very good airline. This wasn't the plane I traveled on. This was the airline's print ad several years back and I saw it on display at the Oakland Aviation Museum last year. It certainly came in handy for this blog entry.

No one was assigned to sit next to me on the flight from SFO to Manila. I found this to be a bonus. It seemed I had a lot of space all to myself. This was the TV screen of the seat next to mine.

I had a three hour layover in Hong Kong en route to Manila. Unlike my last layover in Chep Lak Kok Airport, the airport this time was full of people. There were passengers from all over the world waiting to board their connecting flights to their respective destinations.

The infamous shell seat which have since been faced out in many Cathay Pacific planes. This was my seat on the flight to Manila from Hong Kong.
