Going Home Via Munich

17-Aug-2014 • Munich Germany

Marc and I were not supposed to leave Germany and go home as early as we did. Well, not three days early anyway.

I was glad we did cut our trip short since I was getting antsy about my return to work. Had we stuck to our old schedule, I was not going to have any time whatsoever to rest and get over jetlag. It meant us arriving on a Sunday afternoon and reporting back for work the following day. Not a good idea.

I did get the saturated feeling this time. It reminded me of how I felt after traveling to Europe five times in the late 1990s to the early 2000s (1997, 1998, 2000, 2003, 2004). Add that to the scare we had in Graz and the uneasy feeling we had in Bosnia, I felt I needed to explore other territory next time besides Eastern Europe.

Marc and I arrived very early in the airport for our 6:45 am flight to Paris and SFP on Lufthansa and United respectively. Since we knew breakfast was going to be very paltry on board, we visited the Lufthansa and STAR Alliance Lounge to have some breakfast. We literally opened the place at 5 am.
