California is the epicenter of Asian culture in all of America. The Asian presence here is strong given its huge Asian population. Due to this, there is a plethora of Asian restuarants all over the city. Just like everyone else, I have my favorites. When it comes to Chinese, Gourmet Carousel on the corner of Franklin and Pine is my undisputed favorite. Marc and I especially come here for the calamari. In fact, we come here at least once a week for either lunch or dinner. We can't help it.

The restaurant has changed management a few times and the its wait staff has come and gone. Yet we remain loyal customers since the mid 1990s. Gosh, it's been that long.
