I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Newport, Rhode Island. It really made me want to live in the East Coast when we went. I loved the mansions built by some of the wealthiest families of America although it also made me realize owning a mansion as beautiful, majestic, and elegant could only be a dream in my lifetime. We had three days to explore the mansions and we tried to visit all that were open to the public.
The Rosecliff Mansion, built for Mrs. Hermann Oelrichs of San Francisco in 1902. This was the first mansion we visited in Newport.
I was quite surprised to find out that one mansion, the Rosecliff, in particular, was once owned by a super wealthy family from San Francisco.
