Kyoto is definitely Japan's cultural capital. The city has castles, palaces, temples and shrines galore. While in Osaka, Marc and I went to Kyoto by local train on several occasions.
Marc and I passed by this very busy temple and cemetery on the way to the Kiyomizudera or Kiyomizu Temple.
A view of the cemetery. There were many families visiting their deceased kin when we went. It must have been the equivalent of All Soul's Day.
