The Tsukiji Fish Market

27-Apr-2014 • Tokyo Japan

One travel guide I read suggested that visitors to the Tsukiji Fish Market get there very early in the morning to see the actual selling of the fish. We just couldn't wake up before the crack of dawn to witness this event. We didn't really need nor wanted to.

When we got there, it was late in the morning and the actual selling and buying had already taken place. We just walked around the area. It really was like any Asian market. There were stalls where vendors sold kitchen essentials and accessories.

Here I was asking about the price of a certain merchandise.

Leftover fish. Hmmm, this either did not get sold or it already was.
