More of Copenhagen on Our First Day of Vacation in Denmark

20-Apr-2014 • Copenhagen Denmark

Since it was our first full day in Copenhagen, Marc and I decided to just walk around the city and get a good idea of the lay of the land. Our aim was to see landmarks, find out where they were, and return to them for a more leisure look afterwards.

From the Stroget,

The Hotel D'Angleterre

The Opera

The Magasin Department Store

Kongens Nytorv, King's New Square in English, is Copenhagen's second largest square. It is here where the equestrian statue of King Christian V can be found

After walking along the very commercial street of the Stroget, we reached Nyhavn. Nyhavn was simply picturesque and literally one of the most colorful places I have ever seen in my life. It seemed primarily geared to tourists with its bars, pubs, and restaurants. It likewise appeared to make brisk business all throughout the day.
