Palma de Mallorca

My trip to this beautiful Balearic Island took place sometime in November 1990. I was the official interpreter for some Filipino nationals embroiled in a homicide case. Both father and son were accused of ending the life of a fellow countryman after a long standing feud. By the end of this day, however, the case against the son was dismissed and he was let go.

As for the father, I no longer knew what had happened to him after I returned to Madrid later that day.

My job as the interpreter almost done. Taken outside the Hall of Justice in downtown Palma. I was nervous at first but within the first thirty minutes, I knew I could handle the job and I did very well.

This was the family I had to interpret for. The son involved in the case but who was let go due to a lack of evidence was the one wearing the brown shirt. The Spaniard in the back was one journalist following the case.
