One doesn't go to Italy without visiting Vatican City. Especially for a Catholic like me, a trip to the Vatican was a definite must. For years I saw images of the place on TV, in the movies, and in print media. Though I didn't explicitly say it out loud, all I wanted to do as soon as our plane touched down at Fiumicino was to get there right away.
