Historic Malacca

13-Oct-2013 • Malacca Malaysia

While in Singapore, Marc and I decided to take a day trip to Malacca in Malaysia. Not wanting to bother with making our own travel arrangements et al, we signed up for a group tour with other travelers. It was a day long trip and it included a buffett lunch at a local five star hotel in Malacca. It was a wise decision.

On the way to Malacca, we stopped by a local pewter factory where anything and everything made of pewter was made.

There were goblets and jewelry for sale. We didn't buy anything but it was interesting to see how things were made. From there we traveled on to Malacca passing by acres upon acres of rubber trees.

Upon arrival in Malacca, we stopped at the Hotel Equatorial first where we had a sumptuous buffett lunch. They had a big selection of local dishes and although no pork was served, the food was delicious.

After our lunch buffett in the hotel, we began our walking tour of the quaint city with a strong Dutch influence.

We got to visit a local Buddhist temple
