More of Karl Johans Gate
What I liked about Oslo's Karl Johan's Gate was the fact that most of the city's sights were very close to it. Many of the museums were simply to its left or to its right. That was the reason why Marc and I managed to visit a lot of tourist attractions without veering too far off the city center during our 5 day stay in Oslo.
Close to Oslo Cathedral was this major Oslo Department Store. We checked out its interiors and we actually went to the floor where Norwegian souvenirs from costumes to key chains were sold. Didn't buy anything here though.
Standing next to a stuffed Polar Bear inside the department store, Glas Magasinet. I didn't exactly understand why it was there. I know many stores in San Francisco have themes for their stores. There must have ben one here too when we came. We just didn't stay long enough to find out what it was. Anyway, I was glad just the same it was there for me to see. Can you imagine the size of the bear?
If there is on word to describe Karl Johans Gate, it is BUSTLING. People congregated here all the time. This was after all the main site for stores, cafes, restaurants, and hotels.
This building was undergoing renovation big time. Its side was completely covered in scaffolding.
