Art Noveau in Riga

5-Aug-2013 • Riga Latvia

While in Riga, Marc and I kept seeing beautiful Art Noveau buildings. Many had been rehabilitated and looked brand new although they were really over a century old. We saw many in Old Town but there were even more Art Noveau Buildings in the section of the city that had yet to be renovated and cleaned. We walked everywhere in the city and there were indeed buildings which must have looked spectacular in the late 19th and early 20th century when they were first built. These were just some of the buildings we saw both famous and otherwise.

When in Riga, it was suggested that the visitor looked up to see the intricate details on many buildings. Well, Looked up we did not to mention with our mouths wide open.

An old dilapidated building but so beautiful just the same.

I was reminded of the music masters when I saw these balconies.
