On The Way to Riga

2-Aug-2013 • Riga Latvia

We booked our seats with the Luxe Express Bus Line for our trip to Riga, Latvia from Tallinn, Estonia. The fare cost only 16 euros plus a service charge of 1 euro per person. The bus line offered several prices depending on the bus type and the time of departure. They didn't have their modern and high end Luxe Express buses departing Riga for our preferred departure time but we were fine with what we booked. The bus we ended up traveling on turned out to be the Simple Luxe, the bus line's budget version. It suited us just fine and it was like any other bus. It did have a restroom on board should anybody needed to use it.

Another bus line travelers could use to go from one Baltic city to another was Ecolines. They plied the same routes and had some double decked buses.

The trip was smooth and had a short 10 minute break at one town halfway through. I thought I heard the lady employee of the bus line's office state that there was going to be Wi-Fi on board. There was none. One perk that Luxe Buses had was the availability of hot drinks on board. This we saw and availed of on our Riga to Vilnius trip.
