The City of Rheims' main attraction is its Notre Dame. This we saw on our visit without fail. How we could have missed it? It was right around our hotel and it was very highly recommended that we visited it prior to our departure.

The main entrance
Prior to entering the cathedral, we spent a long time admiring the very ornate and exquisite facade. It was abundantly decorated with religious statues like angels, the apostles, saints, the Virgin Mary, crosses, plus religious scenes like the Assumption of the Virgin Mary into Heaven, the Last Judgement, the healing of the sick, and much, much more.
Called a splay, on the right side of the main entrance to the cathedral is a depiction of the Annunciation and the Visitation
The left splay, on the other hand, depicts the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple
The following were just some of the very many stained glass windows we saw inside the humongous cathedral. These windows did not simply provide color to the otherwise monochromatic cathedral, each and every one of them depicted a specific religious scene or a collection of events from the bible.

Of course, a French cathedral was not going to be complete without the scary looking gargoyles sitting right beside all the religious icons decorating the facade of the cathedral.
