The Very Grand Queen Victoria Building and The Strand
The Queen Victoria Building and Arcade which remains open 24 hours a day.
This is how the building looks inside. Taken on one of the upper floors as we tried to get a closer look at one of its famous clocks.
This is the clock that hangs at one end of the arcade. One needs to get really close to it to get a clear view of its ornamental details and decorations.
A closer view of the clock inside the Queen Victoria Building Arcade. It was huge and its length spanned over two floors.
This side of the clock showed Captain Cook's landing in Australia in 1770
The other end of the arcade with a simpler clock but grand just the same. Just not as decorated as the previous one.
Here's a fuller view of the clock and the other side of the arcade
This clockwith a royal warrant reminds me of a castle tower
A very slim staircase inside the QVB
A closer but a bit hazy view of the slim spiral staircase inside the QVB
This upscale arcade had a food court in the basement where we had lunch on two occasions. I had curry lamb one afternoon and fish laksa on the other. Couldn't complain with the taste nor the portion. They were big and delicious. I couldn't complain.
Now on to The STRAND
The following pictures are from THE STRAND
I really liked this old style mall too. It was very chi chi.
At the time of our visit, the Strand had a sort of fashion exhibit by fashion design students from a local school.
These are what we saw.
