Taal, the volcano within a lake

22-Dec-2010 • Tagaytay Philippines

Here's Taal Volcano.  It is a small volcano.  What makes it unique its that it is a volcano within a lake.  The last time I saw it was last 2001.  This time I got to view it with my partner, Marc, who was visiting the Philippines for the first time.  On this particular trip, a family friend, Charito, and her son, Dondi, took us there to view it.  We actually had lunch at a wonderful Filipino restaurant by the lake.

Here's our group shot.  That's Ate Charito, a very close and dear family friend of ours.  My family has known her for nearly fifty years.  I was the ring bearer to her military wedding when I was still a young boy.  In fact, the picture in this blog where I donned a military uniform was taken during her wedding.
