After a week in the Alsace region of France, it was time to leave for our next destination, Stuttgart in Germany. We had a few days free before our Mediterranean cruise began in Greece and so we decided to visit a city in Germany that we had not gone to yet. Thus we went to Stuttgart which was a mere hour and a half away by train from Strasbourg.

I remember us leaving our hotel, the Adaggio, and heading to the train station before all the stores had even opened. It was around 7:30 am. The walk from the hotel to the train station took no more than 20 minutes.

We had some time to spare before our train arrived and we just sat at the seats right by the train station entrance. When our train did arrive, it took just 15 minutes for the train from France to cross into Germany. At the border, immigration officers boarded and checked all the passengers passports. One lady officer just glanced at us and didn't even look at our documents. We flashed our passport books and that was it. They did question a few other passengers.

We reached Stuttgart at 10 am and arrived at our IBIS Hotel at 11 am. We were hoping the lone male staff at the front desk would give us our key to our room right away. Instead, he made us wait until 3 pm stating that the hotel was full. He did let us leave our suitcases and carry on in the hotel storage room.

There was a supermarket right next to the Ibis and we went in to browse. We made several visits to this place, buying snacks like sandwiches and cakes during our stay in the city. Next we went to the nearby restaurants in search of lunch. We ended up at a place that served some bureks. When we saw the super huge serving, we decided to buy only one and shared it. From there, our sightseeing began.

Around 2 pm we headed back to the hotel. Along the way, we passed by a Vietnamese/Thai fastfood place and we bought food to go. I ordered some pork slices over rice. It turned to be good. We finished it right away when we got to the hotel.
