Book Off Super Bazaar

7-Mar-2026 • Yokohama Japan

For a good two years now, I have been watching YOU TUBE videos about the Book Off Super Bazaar chain of thrift stores all over Japan. We finally made it to the one in Yokohama two days before we left Tokyo. While metro trains do go there, the location was still a bit of a walk from the station. Anyway, I had a blast. The merchandise sure were of very good quality. I personally went crazy over the Japanese home decor to obis. Just like one cliche goes, I was like a kid in a candy store. We must have spent a good hour and a half as I perused one shelf after another. I promised myself that next time we go, I shall bring an extra suitcase to take home with purchases I plan to make from here. There were just so many I could buy for less than 2,000 yen. That's just $12 folks! Where can one possibly buy Asian antiques at that price? Only in Japan! Did I buy anything? Oh yes, lots! My favorite though was one blu and white hand painted Minakari vase from Iran.

What a fantastic place to go crazy Asian antique shopping here! I can't wait to return!
