It's been nearly six months since I visited Warsaw. Looking at the pictures to upload on this blog makes me really want to return and discover more of Poland. What a country! So beautiful! It rained a lot during our brief stay. Fortunately, there were times when the rain did stop allowing us to explore. Of all the sights, it was the Palace of Science and Culture as well as Old Town which I wanted to see the most.
Every time I think of Poland, I can't help but think of its Town Squares. I first saw one when we went to Poznan. Even there, the area looked absolutely pretty and colorful.
We just walked to all the attractions. I knew beforehand that Old Town was completely decimated during the Second World War and that it has been rebuilt to what it is today. Nevertheless, what an impressive feat it is to rebuild the city brick by brick.
A view of Warsaw's Old Town taken on our second full day in the city. What a difference a sunny day makes. We were here the day before in heavy rain and the atmosphere was bleak and dark.
This was taken on our first visit to Old Town. We came over here twice. Taken shortly after a very heavy downpour.

We ate at this restaurant chain, Bar Mleczny, twice. The first time at their most historical of all branches, right across the Polish Opera Building. The second time, right in Old Town. Prices were affordable. It was here where we really got a taste of Polish food.
Who else can this be? He wanted to eat here, at this exact restaurant branch which had been featured in a number of travel and food shows. So off we went! It was cheap indeed.

During our visit, part of Old Town was being prepared for a period film. An extended part of one street was staged to look like period from the 1800s.

About to revisit one antique shop we saw the day before. I thought I could buy something here. Was I wrong! Everything was priced sky high!
