A Quick Visit to London

1-Dec-2025 • London England

After our trip to Reykjavik last June, we went to London for a quick four day visit. We never really intended to go back to London last summer. We planned on going to Tirana straight from Iceland but finding flights proved very difficult. There were no direct flights and the ones we found had early departures from Reykjavik with very late arrivals in Albania. Then there were the layovers which lasted a long time. The cost of the flights was another concern. The airfares were very steep. Then one day, we both decided to try going to London using our American Airlines miles then purchasing a ticket from London to Tirana. It worked. It came out a lot cheaper and the schedules provided by the airlines were way better. We got free tickets on British Airways to London and then bought the onward ticket to our Balkan destination. Thus it was England again for us last summer. We didn't regret our trip and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. I'd say the highlight of the our trip here was our return to Greenwich. Yes, we went back after so many years. To think, we first went there back in the late 1990s. It was that long ago! The newest place we went to on this trip was the Burberry Outlet in the East End as well the Canary Wharf. I really, really love London. I dream of living there someday.

It was our sixth visit to England! I have to say, I love London. In fact, I want to live there! Given the limited time we had, we felt it best to just stay at the Premier Inn Heathrow Terminal 4 and take the train to the city during the days we were there.

We arrived in London during Pride Month. The LGBTQ+ flags were everywhere.

Taken during our first full day in London. Given that we had been to London many times, the most recent trip was just the year before, we thought long and hard which places to visit this time around. We wanted to go someplace new. Honestly, we didn't go very far.

London was busy alright. There were tourists everywhere. There were lots of souvenir shops like this kiosk.

Taken inside McDonald's where we got breakfast before touring the city.

I just love Liberty Department Store.

If I am not mistaken, this street was not so far from Liberty.

See those LGBTQ+ flags? They were all over London when we arrived.

After so many years we finally made our way to the Burberry Outlet in the East End. I bought a travel wallet at half the retail price. I was very pleased with my purchase. My, did I score with my purchase!
