Hello Israel

12-Jan-2023 • Jerusalem Israel

It was last December 17, 2022 when I flew to Israel for the very first time.  Was I glad I finally made it this time.  My partner and I first planned on going last December 2019.  Due to some pressing family issues, we decided to postpone for the summer 2020.  Then the pandemic hit.  Next we booked for Christmas 2020, but, Covid was still ongoing.  It was not until last month did we make the trip without any problems.

I must say though that going there was not all easy and relaxing.  Our friends and family's first question upon learning about our trip was: Is it safe?  I had brushed all worries aside until a bomb exploded at a bus stop in Jerusalem last November 2022 killing two people and injuring many others.  Then I began to worry and get scared.

I too wondered whether going to Israel was worth it.  Even the US Government's travel advisory advised extreme caution.  Anyway, we went away anyway and we are glad we did.  Every thing went well.  It was peaceful and we were safe.  We returned home all in one piece and we now have memories to cherish for years and years to come.

This was my very first image of Israel outside of the airport.  Upon arrival and clearance from immigration, we took the train to Jerusalem.  Once we got to the train station I saw stairs upon stairs up to the exit.  Boy, was it deep!
