If I were asked which city in the US West Coast looks and feels the most Christmassy during the holidays, I wouldn't think twice in naming Las Vegas.  It really is. I took these pictures a couple of weeks ago when my partner and I went there for Thanksgiving. 

Anyway, who would believe it is Christmas time once again?  Christmas has always been my favorite holiday yet this year, I have to confess I have been missing my family big time.  I specifically refer to members of my immediate family who have passed on.  I miss them dearly. 

Moreover, now that the pandemic is over, I should be rejoicing and enjoying Christmas. But, it just doesn't feel as festive for me.  Here in my city of San Francisco alone, so many stores sit empty and there aren't as many visitors around.  Decorations are sparse.  Gone are the trees, wreaths, poinsettias, and lights that usually adorn houses and offices.  There are still some but just not as plentiful as in years past.  

I pray it will get better in the coming years.  Otherwise, the season will look like the saddest time of year and not exactly the happiest like one song goes.
