Souvenirs Galore in Athens
Just like any city popular among tourists, Athens was full of souvenir shops. Lots and lots of shops selling everything under the sun. There were bags and t shirts with either Greece or Athens written across, postcards, bags, spices, soaps, Greek soldier caps (I got two for 5 euros a piece.), plates, and more.
One morning, I decided to visit a store to look at some of the backgammon sets. They were gorgeous ones made of wood, some even with some inlays on them. The lady owner offered me one for half the price, just 35 euros down from 70. I was tempted to buy. God knows how long I've been longing to own one. But, I declined. We were just at the beginning of our vacation and having to carry something heavy and big was a big no no.
