Just a Little Bit More of Istanbul

26-Jul-2018 • Istanbul Turkey in Europe

Shortly after our visit of the Grand Bazaar, we walked around the area to see what there was to see if any. Usually, without any guide or map, we would just walk over to a building or a monument for a more in depth look.

Hence, when we saw an interesting façade behind the bazaar, we went. Turns out it was the University of Istanbul. Not sure if it was the main campus, but it did look big. From there, we walked down to Sultanahmet so I could get my hands on some of the 20 Turkish Lira pillow cases I swear I saw on our first day. Sure enough, what drove many sellers to exclaim in disbelilef that such low price for a pillow case was non existent, certainly did. I bought five from a souvenir shop. I was like a kid in a candy store as I sifted through a hundred or so woolen pillow cases. It was such a wonderful haul I added to my two Turkish rugs and fez.

Don't know what this tower was but it sure looked old and historic.

A restaurant that sold seafood in the Grand Bazaar area! For three days, we looked around Istiklal for some fish to eat but didn't see any. I'm sure there is, we just weren't lucky in finding one.
