The Emirate of Fujairah
Fujairah was the last of the five emirates we visited on our day long whirlwind excursion to the different emirates of the UAE. It was also here where we visited the most number of attractions. We first started with a view of Musandam near the UAE and Oman border by the Persian Gulf. This was followed by our visit to the Al Bidya Mosque, next to the Fujairah Museum, and lastly, the picturesque Fort Fujairah. We started at 9:15 am that morning and by the time we reached our last destination here in this emirate, the sun was beginning to set.
I first heard of Musandam on the UAE and Oman border a couple of weeks before our departure for Dubai. I was so excited about going on a boat excursion to the area since it was going to Oman. That meant another country for me. Unfortunately, it became very clear we weren't going to be able to do the tour since we were very pressed for time after our planned day long visit to Abu Dhabi the following day, we just didn't have enough time left. We really had less that two days remaining in the UAE and we decided to spend that time touring the sights we had not yet seen in Dubai.
The Museum of Fujairah. Marc and I thought we didn't have enough time to visit the attraction. We did decide we were going to do a quick tour and fortunately the museum was small enough to explore in less than an hour. That is, if you go from one gallery to another and not linger in any of them. Just like the museum in Ajman, Fujairah's showcased its history and culture with its exhibits and vignettes.
