Indian Food

I had my very first taste of Indian food last 1994 while on a visit to Seattle, Washington. Thanks to a childhood friend and fellow San Francisco transplant, he got me out of my protective shell and forced me to try other cuisines. Up until that time, I had honestly eaten mainly Filipino, Spanish, Chinese, and American foods.

Little did I know it would be the beginning of my love affair with foods from all over the world. Anyway, back to Indian food, there are plenty of Indian restaurants in San Francisco. One of our favorites is a hole in the wall called Barbar, a mixed Indian and Pakistani Buffet Restaurant on the corner of Polk and California Street. My partner, Marc, and I even used to frequent others until they relocated farther away from where we live.

San Francisco is truly blessed to have literally hundreds of ethnic restaurants. Add the fact that many of them are very inexpensive, we really have no excuse but to try and enjoy them.

Here's the beautiful mural right by the entrance of our favorite Indian Restaurant.
