With the realization that the Christmas holidays are well over in January, there is always the thought of the celebration of the Chinese New Year next which brings a smile to my face. "Any excuse to party!" I say.

This year, however, the big day came and went with very little news coverage in the press unlike in years past. I suppose this was because San Francisco hosted the 50th Anniversary of the Super Bowl and this mega sport event really took over the city's consciousness more than anything.

One place which did remember the local event was Saks Fifth Avenue. The windows for both its ladies' and men's stores were decorated for the occasion.
