Luxor is Value for Money
I knew a year in advance that Luxor was the hotel Marc and I were going to book for our Las Vegas Christmas vacation this year. Every time we come to Sin City, we often stay with family living here. However, whenever we stay elsewhere, we often always choose a hotel along the strip to be close to the sights. We've stayed in The Courtyard by Marriott, Excalibur, and Treasure Island before and we wanted to stay in another hotel resort and casino for variety and experience. Besides, Luxor's promo was hard to pass up.
This hotel resort and casino is one of the strip's oldest hotels and like we always do, we read the reviews on Tripadvisor. They numbered over 22,000 written by vacationers and travelers from all over the world. We were literally surprised by the sheer number of reviews. The favorable ones definitely far outweighed the bad ones. We went ahead with the reservation and we were quite happy with our stay.
We were assigned room 5142 in the pyramid. Marc had actually wanted to stay in a room in this section of the hotel and not in its tower buildings. I cannot deny that the hotel is dated, but it is immaculately clean. It is very popular among so many people not just from the US but from everywhere else too. Hardly a day passed when I could hear languages from different countries spoken in the premises. Our room was huge, our bed very comfy, and there was fast internet connection.
Do remember that Luxor is a budget hotel. It is not luxurious by any means. In fact, it shows signs of wear and tear since its construction over two decades ago. It costs less to stay here than in its swank neighbors like the Bellagio, Vdara, and Wynn for these reasons.
Every time we travel, price is always a factor in choosing our accommodations. We hardly stay in the hotel room other than freshen up and sleep. We find little logic in staying in a fancy hotel when it is but a place to rest at night for us and not much more. We plan to experience other hotels and resorts in Vegas in the future. However, should the room rates plus the resort fee plus other taxes add up to so much in other places, we wouldn't mind returning.
