The San Francisco Winter Walk

13-Dec-2015 • San Francisco United States

For the second consecutive year, the San Francisco Winter Walk opened to the public for the Christmas season. A walk through this two block stretch of Stockton Street is sheer delight. Up until the late hours of the night especially on Fridays and Saturdays, families from all over congregate here to people watch, sit on the LED lit benches, look at the shop windows, purchase meals from multicultural food trucks, play, watch a holiday film projected on the Macy's Men's Store façade and much more.

It is a welcome sight indeed given the fact that for the past years, it has been the site of intensive subway construction starting from Fourth Street in Mission Bay. There is still a lot more subway construction work left and once the holiday season is over, work resumes. To be honest, I cannot wait for it to be completed and for the Union Square area to continue being the elegant and fun square that it is.
