Liverpool, Part 2

8-Jul-2015 • Liverpool England

If there is one thing that I will remember about Liverpool, it is the city's grand buildings. I loved the architecture so much. Since we didn't really have a lot of time, we didn't visit any museums. We left that for our next trip.

Towards the end of our stay in Liverpool, I was getting really worried about my persistent cough. Marc and I went to see a doctor at one of their NHS or National Health Screening clinics in the city center. When I asked how much I had to pay, I was told I didn't have to. It was free.

I was seen by a lead nurse similar to the ones I talk to or see in San Francisco when I get ill. She stated that I had caught a bug which explained my situation. She didn't even prescribe any medication. She added that my condition was going to improve as the days progressed.

While in the clinic, I asked if the cold was typical in Liverpool during the summer. Actually, I asked many locals in the stores and restaurants that we went to and ate in the same question. Surprisingly, all of them answered the same way, "Well, this is our summer!"

I told them that such temperature would be considered winter back home in California.

This must be the list of Liverpool's sister cities. Salamanca, the Spanish city where I once lived and studied in, is one of them.
