Hayward Area Historical Society

Around a year ago, the Hayward Area Historical Society opened. Marc and I finally got to visit it today since we were in the area. I had been meaning to go for the longest time. Marc and I have passed by it many times before. Thus, after visiting my mom's grave in the Holy Sepulcher Cemetery along Mission Boulevard in South Hayward this afternoon, we went.

It was not a big museum. Though housed in a former warehouse like building, we were able to explore the entire site in an hour.

The HAHS tells the story of the City of Hayward and how it came to be. It features its most notable buildings and landmarks, its schools, its industry and most importantly, the people who have come to make the city their home over the years since the 1800s.

This is the building that houses the Hayward Area Historical Society. The building also has a restaurant and cafe and an art gallery inside.
