There are three museums located right in the city center of San Francisco and are very easy to visit. These are the SF Museum of Modern Art currently closed for renovation and upgrade until 2016, the impressive Asian Art Museum, and the Contemporary Jewish Museum. All are worthy of a visit should you plan a trip here and have a lot of time available.

I am Catholic but I enjoy going to this museum. I am in fact a member. Built in 1984, it seeks to share the Jewish experience through its art, culture, history, and ideas.
