The Holy Virgin Cathedral, A Bit of Russia in SFO
10-Mar-2015 • San Francisco, California United States
I cannot count the number of times we have passed by this Russian Orthodox Church along Geary Street. Probably thousands. We come to this section of San Francisco to buy Russian cakes and desserts. It was a good thing we stopped by and checked the place out. It was impressive. The Holy Virgin Cathedral reminded me of the Russian churches Marc and I visited in the Baltics.
Needless to say, the place is frequented by many Russian born immigrants who have settled in the city. Even the rabbis are dressed in the old way, in black robes and with the flowing beard.
