The Winter Walk Along Stockton Street
While snow storms and the polar vortex have hit the US East Coast very early this year, it has been ridiculously warm in the San Francisco Bay Area lately. Actually, it has been very warm for the past year. I don't remember feeling this warm in the fall ever. I do remember coming home from our vacation in Rome last winter and just needing to wear a very light jacket on my way to work. I feel like I have been living in eternal spring with the warm and sunny weather we've had for the longest time.
We're now less than a month away from the beginning of winter 2014, but gee I am just not feeling it.
Anyway, the subway construction along Stockton Street has been put on hold for the holidays as agreed upon before construction even began years ago. This stretch of the street has now been blocked off from traffic and covered, for the very first time, with green turf making the place look like a park. I passed by it yesterday and Marc and I visited it this morning. I don't think many people know about it yet. I do like it and I enjoy watching families and the children sitting and playing on it.
