The Hiller Aviation Museum

3-Jul-2014 • San Francisco United States

It was last 1999 when Marc and I visited the Hiller Aviation Museum. We were touring my dad then who had come from Manila for a short visit. However, we really hadn't returned since. I couldn't really tell if the collection inside the museum had gotten larger or stayed the same. All I can say is we both enjoyed our second visit.

Given our fascination for passenger airplanes, seeing the 747 jets were no doubt delightful.

I had no idea the founder of the museum, Mr. Hiller, was born and raised in the Oakland Hills.

This old plane suspended from the ceiling greets visitors to the museum.

This plane fuselage once belonged to the Flying Tigers. It was fitted with the pilot cockpit and the two story First Class cabin from United Airlines.

This was the first class cabin inside the fuselage of the Flying Tigers plane.

Here I was going up the stairs to the second level of the Old United First Class cabin.

Where is my hot towel? Complimentary nuts? Champagne?

This plane's nose, on the other hand, once belonged to United Airlines.

One of the pilot seats inside the cockpit. Unlike the cockpit inside the Tiger Airlines on exhibit in the lot outdoors, this one was off limits to the museum's visitors. We could look but not touch.

The Albatross, one of my favorite exhibits in the Hiller

What luxury! This is what's inside the Albatross.

What can it be? A plane? Superman? No, just Marc.
