While Marc was busy working in Hiroshima, I took a day to explore Fukuoka, a neighboring Japanese city to the south. I took the Shinkansen early one morning and traveled with my JR Pass. Thanks to some very friendly and kind Japanese citizens there in Fukuoka, I had a wonderful day touring. I did have to take the subway from the train station. I got lost along the way once but I made it through the day.

I will never forget one lady at the Tourist Information Office not believing I was a foreigner. She thought I was just faking it by speaking all in English and not in Japanese. That made me smile.
