My Second Visit to Salamanca

5-Mar-2014 • Salamanca Spain

At the Plaza Mayor with my classmates from the Curso Iberoamericano. It may not seem evident from this photo, but I was running a very high fever on this day. I thought of backing out the last minute, not join given the state of my health, and just stay home to rest. I decided to go anyway. I was glad I did since I had fun. On the bus ride home back to Madrid though, I had gotten worse. I had to skip my classes at the institute for nearly a week afterwards.

Taken with my closest friends and classmates from the course. Here we all were standing in front of the Old Cathedral of Salamanca.

In front of the Convento de San Esteban, a little farther out of Salamanca's city center

This was my last visit to Salamanca during my over three year stay in Spain. Little did I know I would return thirteen years later to be a student of its most famous university, the Universidad de Salamanca. Had I been told I would be returning to study here and be a student of Spain's most prestigious university to pursue its Master's Program in Spanish Language and Culture, I would have laughed it all off and not believed.
