Insadong

9-Feb-2014 • Seoul Korea, South

Insadong is the place for visitors to Seoul who wish to buy traditional handicrafts and local artwork. Marc and I came here twice and on the second visit, I bought two calligraphy prints. Just like in many countries in Asia, haggling was necessary. I must say, it was here I didn't enjoy haggling as much. I found the prices of the souvenirs I wanted way too high. Even when the merchants advertised a 50% discount, the prices were still far too inflated. In Korea, it was much more pleasurable for me to shop in the upscale malls and department stores.
