The Hotel Camelia in Rome
On December 27, 2013, I made my very first trip to Rome. Although it was my first visit to the famous eternal city, it was my second visit to Italy. The first time I visited Italy with Marc, we went to Milan, Verona, and Venice. During that time, I thought I was fine and I no longer needed to explore other parts of Italy. Boy, was I wrong. I sure was glad to have also gone to Rome, Florence, and Pisa this time around. During this trip, we stayed at the highly recommended Hotel Camelia in Termini.
I have mentioned it before, every time we travel and if it happens to the our first time in our newest destination, we try as much as possible to stay in a hotel close to the train station within the city center. The reason for this choice is that we really don't want to travel anymore using the metro saddled with heavy suitcases and backpacks nor do we want to take a cab especially when they are so not highly recommended. Although some people may disagree with me about staying in the Termini area, I actually found our hotel very satisfactory. In fact, we wouldn't mind staying here again if and when we return to Rome.
It took us a long time to return to Italy because my first visit wasn't really favorable. In fact, the country scared me. When we went to Milan years ago, I found the city very chaotic. After Marc had driven through Corso Buenos Aires, I swore I wasn't going to return. Fast forward to 2014, I actually fell in love with Italy and would love to return and return God willing.
Breakfast came with our room reservation. I must say, I loved the breakfast here. It wasn't so huge but ample enough for us to get started with vim and vigor right before we set out to explore the city.
