Verona, Italy

Verona was home for us for several days. We made the day trip to Venice from here too. Verona was small but equally as beautiful as all other Italian towns and cities. It had a lot of history and so many sights to see.

The Hotel Firenze was the hotel where we stayed. The hotel was small but I remember our room to be very nice and the bathroom absolutely stunning. In fact, I kept raving about it for a long time. Now, that was back in 1998, over 15 years ago. I understand this hotel is now part of the Best Western chain.

The entrance to Verona's city center on Corso Porta Nuova

The Verona Arena. It reminded me of the Coliseum in Rome the first time I saw it. This is the venue of the famous opera, Aida, year after year.

Besides the arena, another Veronese landmark is Juliet's balcony. This is one attraction full of visitors all the time.

Here is Juliet's balcony.
