Our Very First Trip to Bridgetown, Barbados

29-Sep-2013 • Bridgetown Barbados

In Barbados, we joined a tour of Harrison's Cave. I am glad we joined this tour since it was my first time to see something like it ever. Upon arrival in the cavern site, we boarded a tram for the spectacular ride underground accompanied by a driver and a guide who pointed out the important sights within.

A view of the cave within

It is a shame I misplaced the other pictures we took of this cave. I don't know what I was thinking after we developed the films and I chose the pictures for my photo albums about our trip to this island nation.

I just hope I find them soon. This seems to be the only picture I have left of the many pictures we took of the cave while touring this wonderful site.

Here I am at Harrison's Cave

Back in downtown Bridgetown, I couldn't help but notice the sheer number of duty free shops catering to the hundreds and thousands of tourists that flocked to the island nation. I must say, the beaches in Barbados were some of the most spectacular I had ever seen in my entire life. The water here was so blue!

Next to the monument of Lord Horatio Nelson. See that Da Costa building in the background? Fast forward 14 years later, it is now the site of Chefette's, Barbados' version of the US' Kentucky Fried Chicken.
