More of Oslo

8-Aug-2013 • Oslo Norway

After our Royal Palace tour, we walked back to City Hall to tour it. Along the way, we passed by gardens full of flowers. In many places in the city, we saw these flowers in bloom.

We likewise saw the Oslo Concert Hall. In contrast to many of the city's sights, this building was not made of brick. It looked quite modern.

Right behind City Hall, there was a square which was full of statues and fountains. This was one of them.

As we walked up to Akershus Fortress, we passed by the monument erected in memory of one of the US' most prominent presidents, Franklin DElano Roosevelt.

Right by the waterfront and harbor where the cruise ships docked, it was easy to spot the Akershus Fortress. Since we were already in the vicinity, we walked up the hill to see it. At this point, we had not yet purchased our Oslo Card and so we planned on deferring our visit of the museums at the fortress. Walking around the premises was free though and locals and tourists alike came to visit.
