The Copenhagen Crown Hotel

27-Jul-2013 • Copenhagen Denmark

In very expensive Scandinavia, one needs to do a lot of research in order to find a good and reasonably priced hotel in the city center. The Copenhagen Crown was our hotel for the last leg of our summer vacation to Scandinavia and the Baltics. I honestly thought it was going to be posh given the price we paid for our room a night. It was, after all, the most expensive among all our hotel stays this summer. Thank goodness we were here for only two nights. We were quite dissatified with it upon check in. It looked very budget in nature and there was no airconditioning. We changed our minds later though and the hotel did serve our needs for our short stay. The free breakfast that came with the room was very good.

The elephant sculpture that welcomes visitors to the hotel

While San Francisco has heart sculptures, the Copenhagen Crown has this cute elephant.

The beds in our room at The Copenhagen Crown Hotel

The space between the bed and the table. It worked just fine for Marc and me. We have stayed in a lot smaller rooms. Think Japan, people!

Since there was no AC, I really opened all the windows to let as much air in. I honestly thought I was not going to get a good night's sleep over the two days we were going to be here but I did. We even used our blankets since it did get cold in the mornings.

The closet

This was where we stored our duffle. We always bring a duffle with us when we travel. It is where we place our used clothes. It's funny how all our clothes fit in our suitcases before we travel and then somehow they expand and get heavier after use especially in the summer.

There were some hangers in the closet. They came in handy. We hung our jackets and jeans on them.

The shelves. I always try to use these in our hotel rooms. I don't like our personal stuff out on the bathroom counters nor on beds or tables. I place them all here. That way, the room cleaning is easier and faster. Nothing is in the way.

This sink is exactly the like one we saw in our IBIS hotel rooms in Eastern Europe last year.

The toilet

The towels

The door to our room. Since the Copenhagen Crown was an old building, our room had a huge old fashion key which we had to leave at the front desk everytime we left the hotel.

Overall, I wouldn't mind staying in the Copenhagen Crown again but only if all other hotel rooms are going to be much more expensive in Copenhagen. Airconditioning is key especially in the summer. We were glad the temperature and the weather cooperated. It was not so hot.

I must say, the hotel's common areas looked more like rooms of a house.

This room can easily called the dining room

While this other common area can easily be called the living room with the sofa and said chairs plus TV to boot.
