The Fairfield Inn and Suites, San Bernardino, February 2012

23-Jun-2013 • San Bernardino, California United States

During the long Presidents' Day weekend, Marc and I decided to fly to Los Angeles, rent a car, and travel to Palm Springs. At that time, we had lived in California for over 20 years and had heard so much about Palm Springs, yet, we never vacationed there. Fares to Palm Springs directly from SFO cost a fortune and so Marc decided to buy plane tickets to Los Angeles instead with his free travel vouchers courtesy of UNITED. The drive was not bad at all. We decided to stay mid way between LA and Palm Springs, San Bernardino to be exact, to cut expenses. We booked a room at the Fairfield Inn and Suites of the Marriott Chain of Hotels. Marc travels a lot for his line of work and he is loyal to the Marriott Group of Hotels. He loves to earn points and he gets free stays every so often. It was a no brainer which hotel to stay in during this trip.

Whenever possible, we try to stay in a room that is not at ground level and whose door could not be opened straight from the street like many old motels all over the US. We have stayed in many of them but we just don't feel as safe and secure in them.

The hotel closet, quite sufficient I might add for any traveler. I don't understand why I did not take pictures of the closet's interior. It usually has a portable luggage rack, an ironing board, a flat iron, and hangers.

The usual work desk

The flat screen TV on top of the usual dresser with a bible in one of its drawers
