Another view of the Berlin Cathedral on the Museum Mile
There were a number of bridges the crossed the small river next to the Museum Mile. One bridge even had statues of what seemed like Greek gods and goddesses on top of pedestal. It reminded me of the centuries old Charles Bridge in Prague which likewise had statues albeit religious ones.
The Shinkel Museum
I thought this museum was a church.
Bronze doors of the Shinkel Museum
A rear view of the Shinkel Museum. This was actually the part of the the museum we saw first from the grounds of the Berlin Cathedral. We thought it was another church.
Resting at this statue which looks like a mix of bear and lion after having left the museum island
As we crossed another bridge to get to Nikolai Quarter, this was what we saw.
Jungfernbrucke

A statue of a bear in Nikolai Quarter
Talking of bears, Marc and I did see a lot of bears throughout Berlin on our very first full day in Germany's capital. Here are some of them.
We saw these in Ku'Damm. They seem to imitate the figures on top of the Brandenburg Gate
Not too far away, we also saw this.
Another one in Ku'Damm
This particular bear was located in a quiet commercial and residential area while we went around in circles looking for the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church before we found out it was totally covered in scaffolding.
