More of Seattle, Washington

The Smith Tower in the heart of Pioneer Square

This building is said to be Seattle's tallest skyscraper.  It has an observation deck where one can get good views of the city.

Images from the Museum of Flight

This has got to be one of my favorite museums.  I love airplanes and I particularly love flying in them.  I love Seattle's Museum of Flight for its wide and varied real plane exhibits.  The time we were there, they also showed  the history of flight attendants from the early part of the 20th century to the present.  For fashion buffs out there, the section which chronicled the uniforms flight attendants wore for different US airlines was very interesting.  The museum had several wings.  Right after we visited the main hall, we went outdoors to see a British Airways Concorde as well as retired Air Force 1 which former US Presidents really flew in while they occupied the highest office in the land.

The interior of the British Airways Concorde.  I never realized the actual space inside the concorde was very small.  I was really surprised to see the size of the seats.  Such a far cry from the luxurious first class seats of today's airplanes, shells and all.

I just had to take a picture of him here as United is his favorite and preferred airline.  Can you believe this guy has actually flown nearly a million flight miles with United flying all over the United States and the world?  Amazing!

Here's a picture of me pretending to be an astronaut floating in outer space.

The entrance to the Museum of Flight

This museum has a gift shop to die for.  If you happen to have a fondness for commercial airline memorabilia, then this is the place to be.

In Seattle's Museum of Flight, you will find airplanes of all sorts.  You will find them inside, in front, and in the back of the museum.  Since Seattle is the home of Boeing, it is no wonder there is a museum of this kind here.  Marc had been talking of visiting this museum for ages and I was very glad to visit the place with him.  I highly recommend you visit it too should you find yourself in Seattle sometime soon.

Both QWEST and SAFECO Fields are just minutes away from each other on foot.

Being the cultural blitzkreiger that I am, I just had to photograph these landmarks of Seattle.  From here, we walked back to Chinatown.

The Gate in Chinatown.

Chinatown is opposite Seattle's railway station.  I saw the trains named Cascades which traveled to Vancouver, BC, Canada and back.  I wonder how much they cost.  During my first visit to Seattle 16 years ago, we drove to Vancouver one day and then took the ferry to Victoria the following day.
